Reason stated above.
More broader term and even non-insects like centipedes have no problems with this.
bugs should serve as the umbrella term of "all terrestrial arthropods". That also includes spiders (most spiders, anyway) and myriapods, like centipedes.
Spiders will be added later to the request and we should revisit all tags implying insects.

Crabs are also arthropods but aren't teresstrial so they don't go under this umbrella term.

Yeah, I agree with that. Although crabs are much closer to insects than spiders are centipedes, but that shouldn't matter here.
Crabs aren't really terrestrial, either. So I'm fine with aving them out of the equation for this.

I'd rather go with this:

imply spider -> bug"

There are quite a few different uses for the word bug (diseases etc.) but the only one that I can think of that would be taggable and that people might actually think could be tagged with "bug" are the little devices used to spy on people.

Likewise, we could unimply centipede again and create an implication from insect and centipede to bug.

Centipedes are NOT insects, by any means. Insects (= hexapods) have 6 legs and that's very, very easy to see.

Since bug is a catch-all term for all anthropods it would also include spiders. Of course this would also include crabs, though.

Of curse bug needs a qualifier. Something like bug_(animal) would be fine.

I dont see a problem with tagging an insect Pokemon with insect and a spider Pokemon with spider if they look like one. Joltik seems like a bit of a stretch as it's only got the extra eyes to suggest its an insect.

While centipedes are genetically quite close to insects they are about as "insecty" as spiders from a leymans perspective.

Should we remove the bee tag from post #907871 and all other insect girl posts then? All those tags would need to be cleaned of monster girls before these implications are made. I do unfortunately not have the time to do so myself right now.

Dunno why this implication is in place but spiders are not insects.
Maybe it makes sense for *_girls, but we deal here with real animals. So we shouldn't clutter this with things that aren't true.
