Futanari are hermaphrodites and newhalf could be a few different things, some kind of trans, non-binary, unfortunate sex worker, and maybe intersex. The concept of the tag is not without merit, but it shouldn't be called intesex.
ShadowbladeEdge /users/14662 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/143284 2018-02-21T15:57:20-05:00 2018-02-21T15:57:20-05:00 @EB: See topic #14784. While there hasn't been an effort to populate the tags yet, there was some agreement to use "other(s)" in the case of characters, for whatever reason, that can't be defined as "boy" or "girl". I would think it would be good to have not too many different kinds of counter tags and it would work better as something more general (as a character with an unknown gender would not necessarily be considered "intersex").
EB /users/11672 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/143283 2018-02-21T15:54:04-05:00 2018-02-21T15:54:04-05:00 @nonamethanks: First of all: top kek at the thread title....
First of all: top kek at the thread title. It was discussed to add a 1..6+other set of tags to classify others, including futanari and characters in the background, but I think it went nowhere. Futanari is not yuri or yaoi (see forum #11853).

1girl

An image depicting one female character.

This all implies that futanari characters aren't considered the same thing as normal female characters.

However, a simple search for 1girl futanari shows that the Xgirl quantifiers are currently being used for futanari characters as well, which goes against the stated guidelines and pollutes the Xgirl tags with images the people might not be interested in.

To quote Wikipedia:

Intersex people are born with any of several variations in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones, or genitals that, according to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, "do not fit the typical definitions for male or female bodies".[1][2] Such variations may involve genital ambiguity, and combinations of chromosomal genotype and sexual phenotype other than XY-male and XX-female.

I think that Intersex would be the best way to respectfully describe characters that don't fit in the male/female system.

2| Why?

Now you might be thinking: "Just stop whining already and just add -futanari to your search."
I have only been talking about futanari at this point, but there are more genders that don't fit into the male/female system but aren't futanari either. An example would be newhalf. And it's not entirely impossible that new terms will be introduced in the future.

Discussing whether or not futanari or newhalfs are boys or girls will be a debate without any proper conclusion, so the best way would be to create a new seperate entity for these other genders all together.

3| Goals

Clean up the current inconsistent use of the Xgirls tags by moving intersex characters to their own quantifiers.

Make intersex characters more easily searchable
Searching for an image that contains 3 futanari characters and 2 girls is in the current system not possible.

Make Danbooru ready for any future changes
If we ever wish to further split up intersex characters or ever create new gender-groups all together in the future, then this needs to be done anyway.

4| Implementation

4.1 Creation of a new gender quantifier

1inter 2inter 3inter 4inter 5inter 6+inter

Following the current 1boy...6+boys and 1girl...6+boys system we need to have a quantifier for intersex characters:
My proposal would be 1inter...6+inter

I use 1inter instead of 1intersex because a shorter tag fits better in the current system, and prevents possible confusion/typos with the new intersex tag discussed below.

4.2 Creation of a new 'intersex' umbrella tag

intersex

Danbooru operates on a principle of "All pictures are girls, unless proven otherwise", which is why there is a male_focus tag but no female_focus tag for example.

If you need pictures of only girls: -male_focus
If you need pictures of only boys: male_focus

This works fine if there are only 2 genders, but it gets a bit more complicated if there more than 2 possibilities.
To make it easier to include or exclude the entire group of intersex related tags we need an intersex umbrella tag that covers these.
All tags related to futanari, newhalfs, etc. would imply this tag.

4.3 Set up proper implications

imply futanari ->
