Adding the game tags to images... <p>Glad you agree.</p><p>Adding the game tags to images of Pokémon that were only just released will always be a problem. I think that the complexity this official art rule will add is minor in comparison, so I wouldn't worry about it.</p> AngryZapdos /users/527891 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/155070 2019-03-01T10:24:15-05:00 2019-03-01T10:24:41-05:00 @Danielx21: > AngryZapdos said: > > Should this be the... <blockquote> <p>AngryZapdos said:</p> <p>Should this be the case for the official art though?</p> </blockquote><blockquote> <p>AngryZapdos said:</p> <p><a href="/users?name=Danielx21">@Danielx21</a> I would like your opinion on tagging official art of the Pokémon themselves with their games, since they are usually made for specific games in the franchise.</p> </blockquote><p>Good question. I believe this specific case has not been addressed before.</p><p>Alright, in my opinion it's OK to use game tags in official art such as Charizard from different games that you mentioned.</p><p>So <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/3429681">post #3429681</a> (official art of Grookey from gen 8) would be tagged <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> and <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_%28game%29">pokemon_(game)</a>.</p><p>We may want to add (or readd) the game tags to some older official art posts too. (example: <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/2459570">post #2459570</a> is official art of Stufful from gen 7, so it would get tagged <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_sm">pokemon_sm</a>)</p><p>---------------</p><p>Just a comment:</p><p>Some people have been repeatedly adding <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> to gen 8 Pokémon creatures.</p><p>If you check the tag history of <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/3429802">post #3429802</a> (a personification of Scorbunny, a newly introduced gen 8 Pokémon), you'll see that multiple people tried to add <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> to that post, which I repeatedly removed.</p><p>Link to the tag history of that post:<br><a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link" href="/post_versions?search%5Bpost_id%5D=3429802">/post_versions?search%5Bpost_id%5D=3429802</a></p><p>Unfortunately, the "official art" rule would add a layer of complexity to these tags. But that's OK, I guess it can't be helped. I see the benefits of using game tags in official art posts.</p> Danielx21 /users/345814 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/155066 2019-03-01T08:07:30-05:00 2019-03-01T08:07:30-05:00 @AngryZapdos: @Danielx21 I would like your opinion on tagging... <p><a href="/users?name=Danielx21">@Danielx21</a> I would like your opinion on tagging official art of the Pokémon themselves with their games, since they are usually made for specific games in the franchise. Take Charizard, for example:</p><p><a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link" href="https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Red_and_Blue.png">https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Red_and_Blue.png</a><br><a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link" href="https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Mystery_Dungeon_Red_and_Blue_Rescue_Teams.jpg">https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Mystery_Dungeon_Red_and_Blue_Rescue_Teams.jpg</a><br><a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link" href="https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Ranger.jpg">https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_Ranger.jpg</a><br><a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link" href="https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_FireRed_and_LeafGreen.png">https://www.pidgi.net/wiki/File:Charizard_-_Pokemon_FireRed_and_LeafGreen.png</a></p><p>These are four of its official arts, each made for a specific game. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that these particular pieces of art are tied to the games themselves.</p> AngryZapdos /users/527891 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/155008 2019-02-27T10:29:38-05:00 2019-02-27T10:29:38-05:00 @AngryZapdos: > Danielx21 said: > > The tags pokemon_swsh... <blockquote> <p>Danielx21 said:</p> <p>The tags <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> and <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_%28game%29">pokemon_(game)</a> should <em>not</em> be used for posts that are merely depicting new Pokémon from these games.</p> </blockquote><p>Should this be the case for the official art though?</p> AngryZapdos /users/527891 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/155007 2019-02-27T10:25:03-05:00 2019-02-27T10:25:20-05:00 @Danielx21: I believe this was already discussed before... <p>I believe this was already discussed before (<a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-forum-topic-id-link" href="/forum_topics/15030">topic #15030</a>), but just to be extra clear:</p><p>New games called <em>Pokémon Sword and Shield</em> (<a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a>) were announced today (February 27, 2019).</p><p>The tags <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> and <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_%28game%29">pokemon_(game)</a> should <em>not</em> be used for posts that are merely depicting new Pokémon from these games. (These tags are OK for human characters from these games.)</p><p>For example, <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/3429705">post #3429705</a> is just Scorbunny and nothing else.</p><p>Basically, the reason (as discussed before) is that most certainly the exact same Pokémon will appear in the anime, manga, future games and such. Therefore a post with only a generation 8 Pokémon is not necessarily representative of the <em>Pokémon Sword and Shield</em> games.</p><p>For the same reason, we don't use the tag <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_rgby">pokemon_rgby</a> for every <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-4" href="/wiki_pages/squirtle">Squirtle</a>, nor <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_gsc">pokemon_gsc</a> for every <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-4" href="/wiki_pages/totodile">Totodile</a>.</p><p>I'm only saying this because a few posts merely depicting gen 8 Pokémon were already being tagged <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_swsh">pokemon_swsh</a> and <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-3" href="/wiki_pages/pokemon_%28game%29">pokemon_(game)</a>, which I removed.</p> Danielx21 /users/345814
