I noticed that the list of emote tags in tag group:face tags seems pretty out of date? A lot of them are missing wiki pages and/or are underutilized. Some aren't even used at all. Also some of the tags which use the vertical bar ("|") like :| weren't linking correctly due to an interaction with the [[wiki title|custom title]] DText, but I think I fixed those.

Should some of the tags with low usage and no wikis be removed?

That's... a lot of emotes to comment on, so I'll withhold my opinions for now and focus on clearing up confusion:

• :c and c: are smile and frown, but they're supposed to be more rounded
• "=" is a category name for the =), =D -type faces. It should probably be |_| instead (that's the actual tag) (not that the posts in = actually feature that face, instead of just being typos, of course)
• <_> is probably supposed be like >_< but the eyes facing the other way
  

I removed /\/\/\ from the list as it's more along the lines of +++ or anger_vein than the other things on the list.

Got rid of -_-, >:| and \_/ as they no longer exist and shouldn't exist either.

Made a wiki for >:( based off the existing one for >:)

I see no reason for keeping any empty tags in that list. This includes the ones that were aliased away.

Also, several of those tags are combination tags that we never got around to dealing with in topic #14655. There aren't a ton of posts with those tags so cleaning them up shouldn't be too much trouble.

About +_-: this tag seems to have a legitimate use for characters with eyes shaped like plus and minus signs (e.g. post #1309661) but in practice it gets used for starry-eyed characters with one eye closed. I wonder if using an emoticon for symbol-shaped eyes like this has too much potential for confusion; would it be better to rename the tag something like plus-minus eyes?

I've found two emoticon which aren't listed. >_o has a wiki and just under a thousand posts, and should probally be added to the page. xo (>_< + :o) has no wiki and 80 posts.

That specific example looks more like symbol-shaped pupils, plus sign and minus sign to me.
