Huh, from the thread title I assumed this would be a fur-trimmed_boots -> fur-trimmed_footwear mass update. I'm a bit surprised that hasn't happened yet.

That totally slipped my mind to be honest, I'm fine with changing it to that if it would be the better option.

This seems fine to me. I'm not sure if there are any cases of fur-trimmed shoes that aren't boots.
