Looking through the test edits, I noticed that while personal websites were moved to the artist page, so were collaborative sites. This includes any site shared with another artist, usually circle partners. I think this is something that should be kept somewhere, like in the external links section.

I've started working on the artist wikis, and I've noticed that there should probably be a need for at least the following sections.

1. Original characters

Characters that do not appear in any of an artist's officially named works

2. Works

Copyrights which an artist is the main or partial contributor to

3. See also

Would contain all other links to another wiki on Danbooru

4. External links

Would contain all external links

The last two are pretty standard for all wikis on this site as is their position at the end of the wiki.

The question is, are there any other sections that should be utilized on artist wikis besides the above? Also, are the names of 1. and 2. good and clear, or do they need to be altered.

We still keep track of those for archival reasons. They can be marked as deleted accounts rather than just erased.

I already don't mess with the URLs in the wiki page all that much, so it'd be a welcome change.

I don't think there's a good way to automate it without losing something, I'm fine with just doing it manually when I see it and leaving some URLs as necessary. I think you can just search http* in in the wiki body to find most of them, anyway.

As for improving the artist page, I don't know aside from maybe using some symbol to mark notes or turning it into a two-column table thing.

One thing I'd like to point out is that the wiki, unlike artist pages, allows for URLs to have extra descriptions. This is useful in cases when artists have links associated with them which aren't just general purpose art dumps, or otherwise would benefit from having a short description.

The example that came right to mind was eiri (eirri)'s alternate twitter where she posted her guro art... but she deleted it at some point and its purpose was never actually described on her wiki page, so that doesn't work very well. I think it would be considerate to warn people if they're about to click into objectionable content like that (that they may not see on Danbooru because they have it blacklisted.)

The ideal solution would probably be adding some way to describe URLs in artist pages, then (when possible) making sure existing descriptions aren't lost if wiki URLs are merged to artist pages.

That said I can recognize this is a pretty niche concern and wouldn't fight hard for it.

Edit: Whoops, didn't read the first post closely enough, BrokenEagle98 kinda mentioned this. That said I think "improve the functionality of artist pages" would be a better solution than "just leave the links on the wiki when necessary," especially since I'm not sure how you could automate moving URLs over to artist entries if you have to check whether each one 'belongs' on the wiki for some reason.

Why are we continuing to duplicate the URL information on both the wiki portion and the URLs portion for artist entries?

Example: artist #17671

Maintaining wikis with such information is harder and more likely to be outdated, plus it adds a lot of clutter and takes up unnecessary space on artist entries. As I understand it, that information was originally added since the artist URLs didn't appear when searching for artist tags, however that is no longer the case (example: jack_hamster, click the "Artist" link at the top next to the "Posts" link), as the artist entry is now shown in its entirety on the excerpt section of the post search page.

Therefore, I'd like to propose removing any and all artist URLs from artist entries unless there is extra information about the URL, such as that it requires a password or some other novel information. Thoughts?
