create implication papercraft -> unconventional_media

Posted under Tags

A lot of the posts tagged papercraft are digital art designed to be printed and folded, like post #1849175. Not unconventional_media. Moreover, this tag's wiki is unclear about whether it applies to drawings of characters making things from paper, like post #1584305. This isn't unconventional_media either.

Also, classifying sculpture in general as "unconventional media" is a mistake, IMHO. It's one of the most basic branches of visual arts. There's nothing unconventional about it.

I get that point, but I've been thinking that papercraft and sculpture are unconventional media in the context of an anime imageboard. We don't often see those here.

That said, it's true that sculpture is one of the most basic branches of visual arts.

Looks like there are three separate things here, photos of completed papercraft projects, digital papercraft templates, and drawings of characters making papercraft. The tag should be split up along these lines. Completed papercraft photos is the only one that would qualify for implying unconventional media.

"Unconventional media" is a tag I made up that was meant to be a catchall term for anything that's not digital or traditional media. I called it that for lack of a better name but I'm open to changing it if anyone has any better ideas.
