create alias xenoblade_chronicles_x -> xenoblade_x
create alias xenoblade_chronicles_1 -> xenoblade_1
create alias xenoblade_chronicles_2 -> xenoblade_2
create alias xenoblade_chronicles_2:_torna_the_golden_country -> xenoblade_2:_ogon_no_kuri_ira
create alias xenoblade_chronicles_(series) -> xenoblade_(series)

Reason: In English, all three games have "Chronicles" in the title, while in Japanese, none of them do. Currently, X is the only one with "Chronicles" in its tag on the site for some reason.

While we're at it, also make en -> jp name aliases for the rest of the series.

There is something to be said about usage.
I would personally do the opposite, aka alias jp to en. I would also do the same for the characters, since only hardcore western fans know the japanese names of characters (which also makes it easier for taggers too). Using only japanese characters is in one way "gatekeeping" people from searching up their names.

As I mentioned in a previous thread about this, this tag is misromanized and needs to be moved to xenoblade_2:_ougon_no_kuni_iira.

I would also do the same for the characters, since only hardcore western fans know the japanese names of characters (which also makes it easier for taggers too). Using only japanese characters is in one way "gatekeeping" people from searching up their names.

Both of these are non-issues with autocomplete.

I don't see much issue with this personally. The aliasing makes it so one can easily recognise both EN and JP names of an IP plus it makes tagging much faster and searching easier. It's understandable how one would think exclusively using JP titles for copyrights sounds like we're being gatekeepers but it's crucial to note that despite being primarily English-speaking (and having lighter policies on Western artists nowadays), Danbooru is at its very core a site for Eastern (specifically Japanese) art and properties, so in my opinion it's much more appropriate and necessary than JP to EN copyright names, popular copyrights such as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, A Silent Voice and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are tagged in their respective Japanese (and original) titles and not much people seem to complain about it.

Again it's my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

In this particular case, the JP names are the same but without the "Chronicles". Just talking about it normally, we usually drop the "Chronicles". Not having the "Chronicles" also just makes it easier to search and tag.

Bi the way, the standard for Danbooru isn't "Japanese names", it's "original names", and there's something to be said for that. It keeps it more authentic, in a way.
