Danbooru

Questionable posts are now open to the public

Posted under General

Since the current ad providers aren't as squeamish about NWS content, I've decided to make questionable posts public. This effectively doubles the size of Danbooru if you didn't have a privileged account before. Whether this is a permanent decision depends on what happens to the ad revenue:bandwidth cost ratio.

Anyway, enjoy.

I had just noticed. It surprised me.

Or users stopping posting new content, since they don't have to since they dont have to be privileged anymore.

I just noticed when I posted an comment to explicit post, the post didn't bump on to the "comments" page. Is this an bug or a feature? I can understand it as a feature, when everyone couldn't see explicit content.

Also, explicit content that I posted don't show in my profile.
Yet again, this shouldn't be a problem now.

Third, site seems slow. I wonder if it's the aftershock of making everything visible.

Edit: Oh wait, it really only means questionable content, huh. That's odd considering the stuff that one can see now.

Is there going to be a way to set one's account to a "Worksafe" mode?

Blacklist the tags "rating:questionable rating:explict".

Questionable and explicit are not the same thing.

Yeah, fixed that in my Edit (before you replied).

This is fantastic news; I can finally see the posts I uploaded! (though one seems to be a duplicate...) I don't like posting explicit stuff anyway, so this'll make it easier for me to not upload duplicates. Thanks!

The site is noticeably more sluggish now, and the paranoid sucker in me doesn't like the idea much either.

It's still the same fast speed it always was for me. However, I've seen some things that I really didn't need to.

Questionable content is only good as long as it doesn't include badly-tagged explicit content, so please tag your explicits carefully. :D

I'm seeing a lot posts that are explicit but are marked as questionable... I've been doing my duty as a member of marking all the explicit ones properly. I'm hurting my own kind for the better good!

Well, give some examples, because what you think is explicit really might not be to most others.

Those are all ecchi at best, and therefor fall under the "Questionable" tag... if I understand the rules right anyway.

Now the one I set as explicit earlier today when browsing through Tsukuyomi Moonphase pictures was of a completely different order. It has Haxuki tantacle raped and covered in semen. That obviously belongs in the "Explicit" category.

Anyway, in short, I believe general nudity is considered Questionable whereas any type of sexual actions are Explicit, but someone higher up might want to confirm this.

perhaps a wiki entry of what can be considered questionable or explicit needs to take place?
