Implicating reitaisai, comiket → convention

Reason: it'd be useful to have a common tag to signify all the various conventions. I don't know if "convention" is the best tag, maybe expo or somesuch?

Expo sounds like it could work.

Convention is far more common now in comparison to expo. The only things that come to mind currently for expos are E3 and PAX. Reitaisai and Comiket get the convention moniker applied to them far more often.

But is convention really the best choice of words? What would be depicted in an image is less what would be called a convention, and more of what would be called a market or fair (as both can be used specifically for meetings or gatherings at a location with the specific objective of buying or selling). While other events might occur that could make such events called a convention, what is generally depicted would not.

On the other hand several of the images don't seem to depict any of the event, and more reference the event in the writing. Such images I'm not sure should warrant being implicated to a common tag, if the only thing in common is referencing a convention. Would this perhaps be better putting under a tag list instead?

Perhaps NWF is right... it doesn't really make sense to tag things like post #192158 with convention... convention is more for things like post #613512.

It seems like there are enough exceptions to say that a convention (or expo, whichever) tag is worth using, but should be applied manually.

Æh, the point is to have a tag that'll apply universally. Just as posts tagged with reitaisai don't necessarily show reitaisai but might be references to it, the same way expo or whatever would be an umbrella tag to avoid having to know which particular convention the picture you're looking for was referring to. I don't care about the exact name, but there should be something to serve that role.

Perhaps tack on "reference" in the name so like convention_reference or similar, to cover any image that references one of those events? That way convention, expo, or whatever could be used for the visual depictions of such an event.

Really, as long as the wiki has a clear definition it's all good.
