I suspect people don't expect there to be two tags, and just pick one at random. But at least <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a> will be less important so the undertagging will matter less.</p><p>Aside from those nits, sounds good to me.</p> lkjh098 /users/372231 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/98878 2014-07-16T19:48:05-04:00 2014-07-16T19:55:32-04:00 @NWF_Renim: I guess then go with having them all under gag,... <p>I guess then go with having them all under <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a>, but have the improvised ones placed under a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/improvised_gag" title="This wiki page does not exist">improvised_gag</a> tag. That way purpose built ones can be separated from improvised ones (and we don't have to think of a name for a tag for purpose built ones, which would sound more awkward than a name for the improvised ones).</p><p>As for the usage of <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/ungagged" title="This wiki page does not exist">ungagged</a>, I went and removed some posts from it, because it was being used for images where a gag is just laying there in the image with a person and yet its being labelled as "ungagged" (examples: <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1153909">post #1153909</a>, <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1326452">post #1326452</a>). There were also examples of someone/something being gagged, but the focus person not being gagged also being tagged "ungagged," which seemed wrong since the thing the gag was being used on was still in a state of being gagged (<a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1260034">post #1260034</a>). The tag should be used for images where the object is worn, but not gagging the wearer (<a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/816959">post #816959</a>, <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1610469">post #1610469</a>). It could also be used for images in which there is clear evidence the gag has been removed, such as by having a saliva trail or saliva on the gag (<a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/1551123">post #1551123</a>, <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/445640">post #445640</a>). I don't know, but it isn't necessarily clearly a gag either, since a blindfold loosened and pulled down (or fallen) would look identical to that as well. It's easier to say its a gag because of its current position, but we don't know how it was used on the person to begin with, so all that we're doing is making assumptions of what the purpose of the object really is. A tied up/restrained person could have just as likely been blindfolded and restrained as they could have been gagged and restrained.</p><p>edit: Some other things of note, you wouldn't be able to tag it as things like a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/cleave_gagged" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">cleave gag</a> because its defining characteristic is determined when used. Also the ears don't necessarily get in the way because a lot of blindfolds are tied over the ears and not above them, so they'd just slide down. If you do a google image search of "blindfolded" you'll see how most images show them going over the ears instead of above them (<a rel="external nofollow noreferrer" class="dtext-link dtext-external-link dtext-named-external-link" href="http://www.batoto.net/read/_/180823/nisekoi_ch81_by_red-hawk-scans/14">a manga example of it</a> ).</p><p>As for the matter on if it was a "blindfold" it being too narrow, well you also have characters who wear glasses much smaller than their eyes, so not really something that can be relied on.<br>/edit</p> NWF_Renim /users/13392 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/98797 2014-07-14T11:39:43-04:00 2014-07-14T11:39:43-04:00 @lkjh098: How should post #68530 be tagged? But I think having tags not match their normal English definitions causes trouble (just look at <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/erect_nipples" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">erect_nipples</a>).</p><p>Edit: Adding an improvised_gag tag, as Log suggested in the other thread, would solve that issue. We would end up with more different tags, which is a downside.</p> lkjh098 /users/372231 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/97406 2014-06-02T01:43:43-04:00 2014-06-02T01:48:03-04:00 @NWF_Renim: How about you answer this then. If someone... <p>How about you answer this then. If someone wants to search for purpose built gags then, you expect users to have to minus out every single improvised gag when looking under the gag tag? Or are you going to propose we make another tag dedicated to improvised or purpose built gags? If yes, what's the value of such a tag when we get the exact same results by not having improvised gags under the gag tag to begin with?</p><p>With the gag tag being used for purpose built gags to find purpose built gags all you need to do is perform a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a> search. To find improvised gags it is as simple as <a class="dtext-link dtext-post-search-link" href="/posts?tags=gagged%20-gag">gagged -gag</a>.</p> NWF_Renim /users/13392 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/97405 2014-06-02T01:32:32-04:00 2014-06-02T01:32:45-04:00 @lkjh098: I'd rather have gag_removed have a definition... <p>I'd rather have <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag_removed" title="This wiki page does not exist">gag_removed</a> have a definition somewhat different from its normal English meaning than <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a> have a definition drastically different from its normal English meaning.</p> lkjh098 /users/372231 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/97404 2014-06-02T01:26:38-04:00 2014-06-02T01:32:58-04:00 @NWF_Renim: Except that a gag as an object can also exist... <p>Except that a gag as an object can also exist without being used and can even exist without people, so having something like <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag_removed" title="This wiki page does not exist">gag_removed</a> is silly when it isn't being removed from anyone it, it still has an existence as an object within an image with or without people. Purpose built gags do not cease being what they are when they're removed and not in use sitting on someone's shelf. You can't put an improvised gag on your shelf and have it still be a gag.</p><p>Example, <a class="dtext-link dtext-id-link dtext-post-id-link" href="/posts/342559">post #342559</a>. The object in her hand is a gag, it's not in her mouth but we know exactly what its purpose is. If it was a piece of cloth intended for the use as a gag we wouldn't be able to identify it as such because it only becomes a gag once it is in a person's mouth, while a ballgag is a gag regardless of where it is.</p> NWF_Renim /users/13392 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/97403 2014-06-02T01:22:21-04:00 2014-06-02T01:26:40-04:00 @lkjh098: Not including improvised gags in gag seems to... <p>Not including improvised gags in <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a> seems to go against the plain definition of the word. Merriam-Webster defines gag as "something (such as a piece of cloth) that is put into or over someone's mouth in order to prevent speech". Dictionary.com defines it as "something put into a person's mouth to prevent speech, shouting, etc.". Basically, the fact that an object is put into a person's mouth to stop them from talking makes it a gag. I'd rather have the tag match the common definition of the word.</p><p>Of course, if anything in the mouth to gag someone was a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a>, that would make <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a> redundant. Most pictures with a gag should have <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a>, though; only if there's a purpose-built gag (like a <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/ball_gag">ball_gag</a> or <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/bit_gag">bit_gag</a>) that isn't in someone's mouth would a picture have <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-does-not-exist" href="/wiki_pages/gag_-gagged" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">gag -gagged</a>. I think it would make more sense to invent a new tag for that situation, maybe <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag_removed" title="This wiki page does not exist">gag_removed</a>. Then <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a> could be aliased to <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a>. Tagging would be easier since most posts would only need one tag not two, and no information would be lost.</p> lkjh098 /users/372231 tag:danbooru.me,2005:ForumPost/58813 2011-03-15T07:14:53-04:00 2011-03-15T07:14:53-04:00 @jxh2154: > niklas said: * replacing the imlication otm... <blockquote><p>niklas said: * replacing the imlication <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/otm" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">otm</a> -&gt; <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gag">gag</a> by <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/otm" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">otm</a> -&gt; <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a> (to stay consistend with the definition initiated by NWF Renim)</p></blockquote><p>Done</p><blockquote><ul><li>alias <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/otm" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">otm</a> to <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/otm_gag" title="This wiki page does not exist">otm_gag</a> to make it more obvious</li></ul></blockquote><p>did otm_gag -&gt; <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/over_the_mouth_gag" title="This wiki page does not exist">over_the_mouth_gag</a> instead and left otm empty.</p><blockquote><ul> <li>alias <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/cleavegag" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">cleavegag</a> to <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/cleave_gag">cleave_gag</a> </li> <li>alias <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/ballgag" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">ballgag</a> to <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/ball_gag">ball_gag</a> (imho)</li> </ul></blockquote><p>Done, also knotgag and handgag to two words.</p><blockquote><ul> <li> <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/knot_gag" title="This wiki page does not exist">knot_gag</a> implicates <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/cleave_gag">cleave_gag</a> </li> <li> <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link dtext-wiki-does-not-exist dtext-tag-empty" href="/wiki_pages/hand_gag" title="This wiki page does not have a tag">hand_gag</a> implicates <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/gagged">gagged</a> </li> <li> <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/spider_gag">spider_gag</a> implicates <a class="dtext-link dtext-wiki-link tag-type-0" href="/wiki_pages/ring_gag">ring_gag</a> </li> </ul></blockquote><p>Done.</p> jxh2154 /users/1309
