Pool slice of life

Posted under General

I added a small description: "Posts depicting normal everyday life". Can't think of anything more though, hope this helps.

On the most basic level it just seems like a pool for vaguely modern day scenery.

The everyday life description doesn't make sense to me since some of them (post #704193) are pretty still life.

Maybe add a few examples of copyrights that exemplify this, although they might not necessarily have slice of life posts. Such as 5_centimeters_per_second or honey_and_clover.

Lucky Star is a huge, and well known anime that's all about Slice of Life.
I agree that the Still life pictures don't really belong. But stuff like that girl in the kitchen (lol, not being sexist) are a great example.

Yeah... the idea is still pretty vague. Basically I want to pool posts with concentration on the living environment and how people are living in it. I'm not sure if it's worth it.

We can work on a definition that is easiest for everyone to add posts to the pool, and scratch out ones that don't qualify.

I'm glad you're motivated to get this pool on the right track, I'd like to help. Personally I love Slice of Life pictures. But we should make it clear that still life doesn't qualify. Maybe pictures that require a human being, (or humanoid like vampire and zombie), doing what they usually do. Maybe keep the pool SFW. And mention stuff like Lucky Star and Honey_and_clover being good examples.

Yes, I think I'll go with that. So: people living their normal life, doing what they usually do and not posing for the camera.

I'm not seeing how this pool is different from scenery with a few extra posts.

Scenery like post #837270 don't fit in the pool?

I will find some more examples of what I have in mind if that will help defining it. This is still just an experiment.

Sigh.

"There are some posts in this tag that is 90% similar to my pool but don't fit into my pool's theme" is not reason enough to keep a pool. It's basically a favorites pool at that point. You are going to have to find a lot of posts that don't fit under scenery for this pool to be worthwhile and potentially even exclude posts that should be tagged scenery.

That is not what I am saying and you totally miss my point. If you tried to observe you will be see it's not all about scenery. I'm sorry for going through the scenery and city tag first to find examples. Later on it'll be all about room and kitchen.

I made another edit to the description: "Posts depicting normal everyday life in a realistic, unposed manner".

It's still very vague and general, but I guess it could work, though others are certainly more qualified than me to decide if it's worth it.

Edit: whoops, looks like rantuyetmai also added pretty much the same things to the description right before I did.
Anyway, I think the line should be drawn at stuff like post #86276 or post #667626 and there should be more focus on the realistic part, otherwise too many stuff will qualify.

Updated

Could it normal everday life etc, but set in a fantastic setting? Like an ordinary day of a school on the moon, for example.

Kind of how some series set in a fantastic setting but were essentially slice of life.

You can try to add examples in the pool. After a day or two we could all look back, narrow down the definition and remove posts.

I worked as best as I can to define the pool. Updated description:

Snippets of everyday life with a detailed surrounding. These pictures are:

* moments of normal life in a realistic, unposed manner.
* being detailed in the background, giving the viewers a good grip of the place the characters are in (kitchen, garden, classroom, supermarket, part of the town, et cetera).

Avoid pictures with the characters posing for the camera, rating should be safe. Non-human characters are acceptable if they do what normal human do.

Any opinion is appreciated.

Updated

I think you can have people posing for the camera if its part of the set-up.

Meaning that our viewpoint is an actual camera or something.
