Tag or pool? Negi-shaped/-colored objects

Posted under General

Sometimes I see posts with objects that aren't spring onions, but are clearly based on spring onion shape and color, like post #833727, post #753512, post #566630, or post #257695. Any idea for how this should be tagged? Many are already just tagged spring_onion but they aren't really so I was wondering what should be done.

edit: Alternatively we could have a broader tag that covers any thing shaped and colored like another thing.

It's not the greatest name but I figured I'd call it something just for the sake of getting the tag started.

It doesn't seem to generally be clothes though, (It looks like we have a sword, a stuffed toy, and two guitars from the examples provided). Also is "food" the level we are targeting here? These examples here are specifically "spring onions".

It's kind of tricky. I don't think that we would want a billion X_themed_object tags for every conceivable thing, but defining it at the level of "food" seems unmotivated and arbitrary to me.

Perhaps a very general themed_object tag would work for anything that is in fact one thing but styled to look like another? In that case we would also certainly tag what the object actually is. Would we also tag what it was styled to look like (since that thing is actually not present except as style)?

I was thinking of "edibles" but it looked weird.
I like themed_object, but it's not specific and could be confusing. lol might as well stick with spring_onion-esque.

I like themed_object as well, and don't think it's too confusing.

Really not sure on this... I guess it would partly depend on if there are implications from it; e.g. if spring onion implicated food we'd have a bunch of pillows and guitars getting tagged as food and we don't want that.
