Tag Vandalism

Posted under General

user #575258 originally went by the name "Blank 1045" (seen at Google's cache here) but now has the generic username. I tagged his four posts with self upload due to both user and artist names being the same and they got removed by user #576747. I'm assuming they switched accounts since their only edits so far have as their only edits so far have been to remove the self upload tag.

Why? He's removing official_art from third party edits and vector traces, and he's right about post #3259408 not being a screencap, since the wiki specifically says that tag applies to anime screenshots.

I could start a separate thread for the topic, but that means there should be a separate tag for non-anime screenshots. And since it was originally official art it could just get the third-party edit tag in addition to official art.

I agree with this, especially since a significant portion of love_live! official_art has been third-party edited to remove logos or card backgrounds

Well, that user was just following the wiki, so you can't really blame him of tag vandalism.

user #374373 seems to be going around removing day and chibi (and chibi-related tags) tags from uploads clearly containing such things, also adding talking to cover pages only containing the title and no speech, among other tags. Not all edits are bad though as there are some good ones mixed into it but they're mostly bad.

forum #152601 ?

Several of the images from those edits seem to have ample context to use 1boy, but there are a few (post #3341708, anyone?) that definitely don't. It's something that has to be decided on a case-by-case basis rather than automatically tagging her as a boy or girl regardless of what you see.

I don't think this is "tag vandalism", but edit-warring without any discussion isn't okay either. Maybe there should be a forum topic for sorting out images with this character instead of simply reverting each other's edits over and over.

user #572977
I'm not certain if they're doing it on purpose or simply a... less than bright person, but their initial attempt at tagging post #3369581 was a copy/paste of their other post and their second attempt was so bad I feel the need to post about it here. Plus they're using their own twitter as s source for unreleased paid content and posting their own edits, which just really gets my goat.

user #516258 has been mass-adding the loli tag to a lot of posts including many which aren't even close to qualifying (they even added it to safe posts during the first run 5 days ago but stopped after being called out on it). I've been reverting a lot of the changes but I can't say I'm 100% sure on all of them so if someone could go through the user's changes and adjust them accordingly it would be nice.
