Application of 2girls/3girls/etc. tags

zoom layer is 1girl since its a bunch of photos making up a single picture, which is of the 1girl.

For dual persona, it depends on the context. If its an inset its 1girl/1boy because to me, its still 1girl for the intents of what people are looking for, just in different costumes.

post #1143319 is an example of what I'm talking about, I wouldn't have tagged it as 2girls since its Miku in two costumes in the context of the image. I'd tag it 1girl but not tag solo, or something, but dual persona is just really iffy.

Most of the time a zoom layer is mostly cropped out of the image or blurry and what have you, so it's more like a reflection of a character than an actual "body."

Dual persona, assuming the second persona is still humanoid (and the same gender), should always be 2girls or 2boys. In post #962445, even if it's an inset, they're distinctly two people. The semantics of whether or not they happen to be the same person or not shouldn't matter to 2girls. It's just an image containing two bodies.

I am not familiar with the series, but assuming that both are the same girl and they aren't interacting with each other (since it's an inset), it would count as 1girl.

I remember the original argument against solo applying to multiple bodies like the images under dakimakura was that chartag:1 already finds single character pictures regardless of how many bodies they have in an image. In order to make solo a unique and non-redundant tag it was to only apply to single body images. I think that's still fair point.

As for post #900117, I agree with Anelaid; the *girls tags should apply to bodies, not just appendages or implications.

If its just a hand of another character, or something like that, I don't feel comfortable tagging it as "2girls" because I think that anyone using the tags wants to see two characters in the 'flesh' and body-parts don't apply for me.

I don't think I would ever skip character tagging actually. Even things like post #502936 or post #801739 are worth having the characters tagged to me.

I used to tag solo/2girls etc. only on posts where chartags:X was misleading (myon, pyonta and such). I'm still not sure what's the best thing to do about that. Solo has always been so undertagged that chartags:1 works infinitely better.

I would consider post #1142542 to be 2girls since the doll is life-size and if you weren't looking closely you could probably confuse her for the real character. The solo tag though might be applicable (although I'm noting there seems to be a lot of 2girls solo images that don't seem right).

I'd consider a dakimakura to be 1girl and solo. They're really a combination of two separate images.

Character dolls aren't considered characters for the point of tagging.

And dakimakura, if its of the dakimakura itself and not inside a post, should count as 1girl + solo for the purpose of tagging.

Probably just the power armor tag and the name of her suit (e.g. varia suit) would suffice. I can't remember if the androgynous tag was supposed to be used in that type of situation or not. Either way I don't think using the 1girl tag would be appropriate in that situation.

I count 6+girls here. They are distinct physical entities. They even interact with each other.

And if I see 1 big Suika and 2+ small Suika I think that would be both dual_persona (1. big, 2. small) and clone (mutliple identical small ones)

2girls for discrete characters in the image or 3girls if you count chibi-Suika as a dual persona.
6+girls counting the repeats, for 2 Yuukas, 2 Suikas, and 3 chibi-Suikas.
