How is "cleft_of_venus" different than "pussy"?

Posted under General

So ... what makes cleft of venus distinct from pussy? The wiki description, when compared to the images thus tagged, makes it seem that "cleft_of_venus" is just a redundant tag, or else that the tag is being applied erroneously. The single-sentence wiki entry here seems to be lifted almost entirely from Wikipedia, whose own entry does nothing to convince me that the new tag has a different meaning. If I had some more info on the intent of the tag, I could clarify our wiki entry and resolve this, but as it stands, I don't see why "cleft_of_venus" shouldn't be aliased to "pussy".

I think it was originally meant to use for situations where everything was hidden except the tip of the cleft. Keep in mind, even when the cleft is fully exposed the two technically aren't completely synonymous. Showing any part of the vulva except the labia majora would likely disqualify and supersede the tag. Depending on how we wanted to deal with edge cases that may not show enough to be tagged pussy, an alias or implication might or might not make sense.

EDIT: Consider also the Japanese tag すじ which is the Japanese equivalent tag, meaning something like "vertical line". This sort of demonstrates the sort of image Cleft of Venus may be appropriate for in non-edge cases.
