Cultural distinction for biscuit tag?

Posted under General

I've been going through the food tags list and polishing things up when I came across biscuit and it's distinctions between Britain versus America's definitions, which I defined in the wiki. They are drastically different, and I wanted to clear things up on how Danbooru should tag biscuits.

Then I looked at the tagged pictures and became very confused. I haven't come across a culturally ambiguous tag before, but I find this to be one of them.

Is there a cultural definition that we should use when using the biscuit tag? Should the American biscuit be the one defined on Danbooru and the English biscuit be tagged as cookie instead? Or should it be the other way around, with the American version called a scone instead? Should there be an american biscuit and an english biscuit tag created for each of them? Or could biscuit be considered an ambiguous tag for cultural reasons, and then broken down into the more defined cookie/cracker and scone for their respective cultures?

I know Danbooru is an international site, and I can just tell by the confusion caused when I looked at the posts for biscuit.

Or am I looking into this too much? ><;
