No, I think it would work better as an alias (as per first post).
It may be worthwhile to use it as an implication as opposed to an alias, given that the Japanese style is typically a solid straight handle with the blade then jutting out perpendicular from the handle or end, such as post #1297539. I'd imagine in the west the more familiar style would be the crescent shaped, like post #1229879, which does have a distinct appearance from the Japanese type, though the crescent shape is the least common depiction under the sickle tag. Still, having the ability to be able to remove one set from the other with a negative search may be worthwhile, even though the tag doesn't have a large population of images right now.
