She's a jellyfish? I thought this was an electric eel joke...
In Japanese, Seaplane tenders are called Suijoukibokan (水上機母艦), literally "Seaplane motherships". This gets shortened to Suibo (水母, literally "Water Mother") which also happens to be the first half of Seaplane Tender Hime's name. The more common reading for the kanji 水母 is kurage (クラゲ), which means jellyfish.
Has the Japanese's correlation between Jellyfish and Electricity ever been found out yet?
Oh it was nothing. It just sting like you got sparked.
