More like it takes something that is funny and makes it genuinely dark. This isn't the first time this joke's been made, but it is the first time that it's not presented as a lighthearted joke. Humor doesn't get any blacker than this.
It's hard to "like" this series, because it's NOT about "jolly-happy-funtime" with the girls of Gensoukyo. It's a chilling reminder of the reality of such activities.
I'm not one to intervene, as I go by a live'n-let-live based standard. But trust me when I say, I have watched them come and I can watched them go.
I've gathered the understanding, over a period of time, that the artist in question suffers severe physical/psychological pains and depressions and this is understandable; life can be cruel and unfair. My greatest fear is seeing a talented artist fall to personal Coping Mechanisms with negative, or even destructive methods of acting- or mayhaps reaching out to deal with potential pain and trauma. Everyone is different and I'm not here to judge, but as I say, I have seen them come and I have seen them go and often I ask myself where on this fateful crossroad, I personally stand, seesawing between the social ostracism and stigmatization of my own secretive destructive coping mechanisms, leading toward a downward-spiraling despair...
Or! You, Hater, could raise above it and use your talents to bring smiles to your adoring audience, in turn, alleviating your own pains and sorrows. But that's just me, a curious entity hidden in plain sight, and my written words.
-Love the art, but the content sometimes worries me. is all
I barely understood this pretentious spiel, but I think this is one of the least destructive coping mechanisms he could have chosen to deal with his pain. Would you rather have him going out there hurting actual people or just drawing Touhous in depressing situations for his amusement? Art is an amazing way to cope with trauma compared to what he could be doing. I respect him.
Considering how some species of animal eat their own placenta to restore nutrients after birthing live young, no. With how wild (no pun intended) the animal kingdom is, you can giveher a pass.
