The flower part basically consists of a mottled purplish-red fleshy flower spike poking out of a maroon-red bract, making it look like grotesque tongue and lips. The whole thing also smells like a rotten corpse when it's in full bloom.
That's how it got the name (among others).
You know what they call it in Latin? "Shapeless dick konjac" (Amorphophallus konjac). It's a close relative of the titan arum (Amorphophallus titanum, "Giant shapeless dick"), AKA the largest unbranched inflorescence (flower stalk) in the world.
