-gasp- you are right my good sir that must mean one thing! ... Remi has a twin traped on the other side of the mirror and in order to get her out she must apply makeup and sacrifice 1 million virgins before the night over!
... Or maybe this is Touhou and vampires can have reflections like shrine maidens can be lazy.
Aya has taken pictures of Remi before, so for whatever reason it seems like she does have a reflection. (Not sure if this is explained in one of the text works)
Technically, I believe it's the silver backing of mirrors that won't reflect a vampire's reflection. Silver and wood are common weaknesses to mythological creatures, because of it's 'purity' (Shininess).

Since when is wood shiny? I mean... regular wood... not trated, polished wood...

No no no. Wood, wooden stakes. Wood and silver are traditional weaknesses to many monsters. Wood because....well, I'm not sure, but probably because of it's relation to the cross, and silver because of it's 'holy purity' (It's shiny and white)
Point is, it's the silver that doesn't reflect a vampire, because it's too 'pure'. At least, I think that's the rationale behind it. Because of a lack of anything else that would give a good reflection, mirrors were backed with silver until...really rather recently, I think. In fact, I think many still are. (It's like, fifty cents worth of silver, but still.)

Maybe it's not shiny, but it's useful as hell. So useful that, in fact, if you're gonna make some kind of fan fic (myth) about it, you should better give it Mary Sueish qualities.
The pool should probably be called 'not according to myth' or something like that for when the 'facts' that are being deviated from aren't reality/concrete to begin with.
Well the reason vampires aren't meant to reflect into mirrors is because back in the days, mirrors used silver frames, thus why they shouldn't have been reflecting.
I know you guys are having this discussion about vampires not having reflection, but something bothers me more.
The reflection is facing the wrong direction.
If you don't understand what I'm saying, take a picture of someone facing away from the mirror. If the reflection is still facing towards the mirror, you might wanna call an exorcist.

People! Its an honest mistake. Vampires reflect fine in most mirrors. Its only mirrors that use polished silver as a backing they don't reflect in. the standard polished glass mirrors are fine.
the mirror remilia is staring at her when she is looking away
