Kogasa's seemed to have unwillingly invoked rain woman powers at several instances.

I believe the etiquette rule is “If a glass has a stem, hold it there.” However, that rule seems to be widely disregarded. Possibly because if you hold the glass only by its stem, it’s somewhat unstable, especially once you had some (a lot) already…

That's for white wine, which is served cold (hence holding the stem.) Cupping the glass is fine for reds.
