It is. In one scene he appears before three soldiers, and they start fighting with each other, much like Cirno, Rumia, and Mystia are doing here. Yuujiro then compliments them, telling them that they instinctively made the right choice. If they had fled from him instead of fighting, as was their duty, he'd have killed them for their cowardice, but, if they had fought against him, he'd have killed them for challenging him.
As such, the correct response to avoid being killed was to fight with each other, thus demonstrating enough fighting spirit to Yuujiro that he would spare them without disrespecting him by challenging him directly.
