雛人形 (hina-ningyō) are ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. Displayed before and during the Hinamatsuri) (Japanese Doll Festival, or Girls' Day) held on March 3rd.
