Atlanta アトランタ(艦隊これくしょん) Atlanta(艦隊これくしょん) アトランタ(艦これ) Atlanta(艦これ) アトランタ
Kantai Collection's depiction of USS Atlanta (CL-51) of the United States Navy, which was the lead ship of the Atlanta class of eight light cruisers. She was named after the city of Atlanta, Georgia.
Visually, she is tall with a large bustline, and has long brown hair in a two side up hairstyle and grey eyes. She wears a black garrison cap with the number 51 written on it, silver star earrings, an anchor hair ornament, a long-sleeved white dress shirt that reaches her thighs, a high-waisted black suspender skirt over it that also reaches her upper thighs. Garter straps are visible below her skirt, attached to two thigh straps. She also wears black rudder boots, and white partly fingerless gloves which expose only her thumb and index finger and cover the other fingers in a mitten-style. Her machinery includes four turrets and a crane.
Personality-wise, she comes off as being cool and laid back, a great contrast to many of the American shipgirls who came before her. She has a particular aversion to night battles and Japanese destroyers, in reference to her historical fate. She is often compared to Ryuujou, who also has brown hair and a similar haircut but a flat chest.
She was commissioned 24 December 1941 and was awarded 5 battle stars and a Presidential Unit Citation during World War II. After sinking Japanese destroyer Akatsuki, Atlanta was heavily damaged by Japanese and friendly gunfire in a night surface action on 13 November 1942 during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. The cruiser was sunk on her captain's orders in the afternoon of the same day.
