ecce homo
A 19th-century fresco of Jesus by Elías García Martínez in Borja, Zaragoza, Spain. In August 2012 news broke about a restoration attempt by Cecilia Giménez, a woman in her 80s . BBC correspondent Christian Fraser said, "the once-dignified portrait now resembles a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey in an ill-fitting tunic". [1]
More generally, Ecce Homo is Latin for "Behold the Man", a phrase spoken by Pontius Pilate at the trial of Christ. There are also various art works with this title other than Martínez's.
