fountain pen
A type of pen that uses a capillary feed to dispense ink from an internal reservoir to a metal nib (tip). Once the dominant pen form, replacing the metal nib dip pen, it itself was supplanted by the ballpoint pen in common usage. Still often used by people who prefer its writing feel.
