hms vanguard
The last battleship ever built by Britain. Designed as a "cheap" battleship utilizing the turrets of the Courageous-class battlecruisers when they were converted to carriers. Similar in design to the King Geroge V and the [unbuilt] Lion class battleships in many ways. Was completed too late for the way. She was most famous to taking the then princess Elizabeth to visit South Africa in 1947. Spent most of her years in reserve before being broken up in 1960.
