Components
- Fuchi (縁):collar on hilt
- Habaki (鎺):blade collar
- Kaeshizuno (返し角) - a hook shaped fitting used to lock the saya to the obi while drawing.
- Kogai (笄):The kōgai is a spike for hair arranging carried sometimes as part of Katana-Koshirae in another pocket.
- Koiguchi (鯉口):the mouth of the scabbard or its fitting
- Kojiri (鐺):end of the scabbard
- Kozuka (小柄):handle of accessory knife
- Kurigata (栗形):scabbard (saya) fitting for attaching the sageo

- Shitodome (鵐目): small collars in the kurikata and/or kashira

- Tsuka-maki (柄巻): art of wrapping the handle of a sword
- Tsuka-ito (柄糸):handle wrapping or tape
