ran ran ru
Japanese: ランランルー [Ran Ran Ruu]
A dance move performed by Donald McDonald, the Japanese interpretation of Ronald McDonald in local television commercials for the multi-national restaurant chain McDonald's.
The move is done in three steps:
- The hands are crossed and tapped on their opposite shoulders once. Donald says a single ran.
- The hands are clapped together once. Donald says a single ran.
- The hands are raised up straight and above the head. Donald finishes with a single extended ruu!
The move has become a staple parody of fan artists, especially in Japan. The Japanese video sharing site NicoNico is a particular hotspot for parody videos.
