Fried prawn (エビフライ, Ebi-Fri) is coated with flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs, and deep-fried in hot cooking oil. They are often eaten with Worcester sauce or tartare sauce. It is a popular ingredient of takeout and home-packed obentou. They are also served over curry rice. Japanese comedian, Tamori once joked Nagoya about fried prawns. Therefore ironically, fried prawn is a speciality of the city of Nagoya.
