wand
A thin, straight, hand-held stick made of wood, stone, ivory, or metal, with ceremonial or magical significance. A conductor's baton, in music, can also be referred to as a wand.
In fiction, it is generally used as a magical-tool, to cast or channel magic, fulfilling much the same role of a magical stave. The difference is that a wand is generally used in less "serious" works, by fairies or godmothers and is connotative of a playful form of magic.
Laevatein, associated with Flandre Scarlet, is an example of a more unusual wand.
