hair_up, hair_down

Posted under General

I think these tags are useful, but the descriptions in the wiki don't really match with the use in normal English language, do they? For example, I wouldn't have thought that longer hair than usual counts as hair_down. I'd propose a more general tag, for example alternate_hair, for characters who are drawn with a hairstyle different than their default one. Good/bad idea?

The description match how I would normally use the term, other than going from long haired to short haired or vice versa. However the examples are a bit fuzzy. Both "hair up" and "hair down" would require long hair.

Basically, "hair up" refers to post #337261 as opposed to the normal style in post #337003. So it implies someone putting her hair up when she normally wears it down.

And conversely, "hair down" is for someone who normally wears it in a ponytail or bun, but has let it down for once like in post #311044.

OK. But not all cases are covered by those two tags, e.g. Kagami with a ponytail (post #147836). I think alternate_hair would be a good "blanket tag", although it is a bit "clunky".

Yeah, some blanket tag would be better, and would also clearly include short hair <-> long hair changes, e.g. post #221402. But I can't come ith a better name for the tag either.
