Cleaning up the food_themed_ornament to remove earrings and hair ornaments, but leaving in other baubles, hat ornaments and badges to fit with this tag.

I'm likewise creating the food_themed_earrings and food_hair_ornament (or should it be food_themed_hair_ornament?) to bring together all of these loose subsets under umbrella tags. Also, should I imply food_themed_earrings and food_hair_ornament to food_themed_clothes as well?

I'm also wondering if I should imply the piece of jewelry to the actual food it is referencing, i.e. apple_earrings -> apple.

Not sure. I think they've usually been tagged even when it's clearly not an edible item (and as such even the base food tag is often used for such things due to implications). They've often been used so the item is searchable at all, as a lot of the more specific tags haven't been commonly used. And as it stands now, it's the ONLY way to search for a particular item in combination with food_themed_ornament. To avoid too many different tags, one solution may be to alias (only after various mass edits are done for the implied tags) the different variations (apple earrings, apple hair ornament) into one tag like apple_ornament.

Food_hair_ornament changed to food_themed_hair_ornament.

Of course, I won't go actively naming every possible type of food to tag as a hair ornament or as earrings, but I'm going for what I feel can be reasonably found after some searching, and then populate them. Even so, I can see how silly it gets to have so many implications for each piece of food being depicted as jewelry, but I will stick to this for the moment and worry about creating such tags like apple_ornament, strawberry_ornament, etc, etc, after some cleaning up.
