Should plate still be tagged if it's broken into many tiny pieces lying all around the floor? This warrants broken_plate but not plate, I think.
Is that still a plate when the plate doesn't exist anymore?

I think it's quite hard to tag this as a plate.
(Besides it has only 30 images, so I doubt this will get through anyway.)
I wouldn't call a broken plate a plate any more than I'd call rubble a building. It isn't the thing it once was.
On a related note, broken armor and broken weapon imply armor and weapon, but those implications are a legacy of jxh's tenure and don't have any related forum topics. I don't think any of the current administrators would make such implications without some discussion first.
With this: We have also a huge ton of torn_* tags which imply the attir, like skirt, shirt etc.
Basically, that's the same: Broken skirt = Torn skirt.
The tag implication broken_plate -> plate has been rejected.
So that's a "No", I guess. As for discussion on whether other broken_*/torn_* tags should imply the object itself, create a new topic so others would notice it properly.
