shoulder, shoulders and bare_shoulders

Posted under General

In the plural alias thread these tags came up.

Shoulder should alias to shoulders, sure, but like Moose said, we already have bare-shoulders, which is more descriptive of any situation in which tagging shoulders would be of any use.

Is there a good reason anyone can come up with for not aliasing the first two to bare_shoulders?

Updated

There aren't many posts in shoulder/shoulder, and the tags could potentially be taken to mean just emphasis on the body part like its sibling tags (unlikely, but conceivable)...

Maybe the posts should just be combed over, removing shoulder(s) or replacing it with bare_shoulders as needed.

Ok, I'll go with shinjidude's idea on bare_shoulders even though many posts that should be tagged aren't. After we remove the posts that don't have bare shoulders we can alias them to bare shoulders.

There are some posts under these tags that apply to neither bare shoulders nor off shoulder. Some of those are bare_back and some are just nudity. Another exception is id:616975, which obviously doesn't have bare shoulders has has a hoodie, not an off shoulder.

Just off_shoulder is enough there I'd say.

If someone wants to tag prominent shoulder_blades, then just using that wouldn't seem inappropriate. That said, my own opinion is that people usually tend to ignore the "prominent" part, or define "prominent" as "exists".
