Regarding 'name' tag

Posted under General

I'd be in favor of moving the artist regardless of what we do with the base tag (though your suggestion makes sense).

General English nouns should be used for their general concepts or otherwise reserved rather than given to characters, copyrights, and artists. To do otherwise is to invite confusion and tag pollution when others fail to realize the general word's special status here.

Anyone else in favor of changing name to name_(artist)?

'_(artist)' tags are verboten, so name can be moved to name_(nanopa) after his site name. (Despite his wiki, I see no evidence that he's using the name ゾンビっち now.)

I think the tag name should be used for images that feature the name of the character(s) depicted (like post #943867 and post #942531)

character_name would be less ambiguous. name could just as easily apply to images that feature the name of the artist.

Would there be a corresponding tag for when the copyright title is shown on the image?

I mean that everyone who is Japanese or knows the language sees a name there. You might not see a name in こいし either and just weird symbols.
