I always figured that erection was for erections under clothes, similar to erect_nipples.
Yeah that's the impression I had too. Erection is a pretty silly tag if it's for any type of erection considering that 99.5% of penis images are erect. It'd be easier to just tag flaccid on the other 0.5% rather than the inverse.
