Oblaat, a thin piece of paper-like substance made from starch (or gelatin). Can be used to wrap bitter medicine to ease down the swallowing process. The kids' version is usually flavored like candy.
Almost necessary for anybody not used to that vile powder cold 'medicine' stuff they like to prescribe in Japan. I mean, seriously, it ain't traditional herblore medicine. Just use tablets and capsules like the rest of the world. Or at least turn it into a liquid suspension, sheesh.
...and IIRC, those things contain cough medicine, some kind of poppy extract (which can also inhibit coughing), two or three different kind of B-vitamins, some kind of allergy medication, some sort of enzyme thingy that acts like an antibiotic, some other thing that is supposed to give you more phlegm (expectorant) to wash bacteria down or out more easily, plus the usual acetaminophen/paracetamol and caffeine combo.
Sheesh, it's like they want to nuke everything "just in case". No coughing? Well, too bad, take your medicine! It's a total package!
IIRC China and Taiwan also have similar vile-tasting powder thingies.

The traditional Chinese medicines, yes. They're available in some areas of Malaysia and Singapore too. EDIT: Also I almost mistook Shiranui as Cirno here.
