So sad that this franchise isn't getting much attention these days (the DS games are nice and all). I've been playing Monster Rancher 2 (Though in the PAL region it was just "Monster Rancher" as we never got the first one, or really, any MR game except for the second PS1 game)
Given then next year is the 20th anniversary, hopefully it gets SOMETHING new.

I think a main problem with this franchise is the "wow" factor of inputing your CDs/DVDs into the game to make monsters.
These days, everyone downloads their games and only "Collectors" want the physical disc which was a big draw to Monster Rancher back in the day.
I just compared my own PS4 collection to my cousin. He has 20 games and I have 7. However All 7 of mine are physical disc, he has 19(full retail games, not dinky indie games) downloaded to his PS4 so the only disc he physically has is the game the PS4 game with.
And even then, not all consoles now a days even give a physical disc. My WiiU gives me a download code for Mario Kart as the included game. Not even a game disc in that box.
