"Wait, why is there a Muslim cleric on base to issue fatwas—wait, that's what they call civvies/casuals in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zeal— must be Paracite!"

All in the place of 2 secs or so.
To be fair, even as an American, I'm familiar with the term "in mufti", though I'd definitely have used "civvies" here.
There's other words? It's even what we used back in my school days!
I find it's more popular out across the Pacific to refer to "civvies" as mufti, versus North America or parts of Europe.

It's not that common in Canada either. More in the UK, but it's not unheard of.
At first you liked the shitty admiral, and then you got a mufti and yada yada... Shoah
Yes, ma'am...That's a given, what with shipgirls generally only going off-site for formal events and all.But it's nothing so grand this time, so mufti's just fine.Damn, you're a serious one.So yeah, I'll just wait for you - so go get yourself changed.But...In the shipgirl handbook, it states "In the event of an outing - uniforms," so...You don't even have mufti?Wha?
