Publisher is the same as AL (Yostar), but almost every dev at Hypergryph were lead GFL devs/artists who dropped out of the company after a discussion on the game's direction. What you get in the end is a lot of devs with experience that want to make a game with actual gameplay in it.

I honestly find it quite fun. As a tower defense game, I treat each map as a "puzzle" to solve with the units at my disposal. "Solving" each map feels quite rewarding. Units like Ifrit and Skyfire, who have unique mechanics attached to their use, make it more fun too (always nice to find/ create an "Ifrit Road").
