I used to hate all furry with a passion mainly because alot of what I saw way back when was looney toons looking art. I slowly started to warm up to it thanks artists like Kishibe and charaters like Koko here.
I'm not fully in the furry camp though, I judge it individually on an image by image basis. I like Koko and some of Kishibe's other works but some others not so much.
I am rather surprised that Kishibe seemingly hasn't done any new art of his own for Koko in a long time. Now she seems to have been adotped by Kida Kuro and I'm thankful for it I'd hate to see a cute fox girl be forgotten.

I feel you. I have a pretty violent reaction to furry due to all the horrible western art I used to see on imageboards. At some point furry even used to mean only western anthro, due to the difference in style from Japanese kemono.
I think it was also my already exsisting love for kemonomimi that helped make me more receptive to taking a dip into furry art.
Similarly I used to dislike otoko no ko but slowly became a little more accepting over time. I may not be gay but I can still appreciate some good Astolfo art. Coupled with this I also opened up to futa art a little, just as long an artist doesn't go exreme dong with his girls.
There are some futas that I wish we got to see non futa versions of though. Such as Mofuringu's short Tanuki Ears series.
