God, Kyoto Animation makes the best detailed anime I've seen yet. Comparing this with the original, it looks horrible compared to Kyoto's animation style...
Must say that the remake is totally impressive. Love it as well since they changed Aizawa's voice to the seiyuu of Kyon from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. I just find it funny when he talks since his comments are just ridicously funny. His voice is great (Loved SHUFFLE too since his voice was there)
Great works. I love the 1st version of Kanon very much, at that time I think no other anime can be better. Until today Kanon return with MORE quality. Grea~T.
comment #33299 'cept it was crappy the day it was out. There are 4-5 years old productions that are great, Kanon 2002 is not one of them. Chara design is atrocious (widely known as "kanon faces"), seiyuu work is not so hot, and the anime is simply boring, yet too short to give the characters any kind of convincing development. All the differences can probably be summarised in 3 words: "director with a vision"
seriously, toei could probably get a lot more budget if they actualy decided to give a damn about the non japan anime market (by giving decent quality masters and not things that look like they have been through a projector a few too many times, and possibly licesence sailor moon again).
then again, toei has never realy seemed to care much about their properties (like all the continuity errors their filler episodes and scenes of dragonball and DBZ had)
