If its a Snakeman Terror Site the loss of points is worth it. I'm not having half my team made into Chryssalids. (and by the time a Rocket HWP gets into firing position half the civilians are zombies already.
And is it me or is that Ship looking a lot more like an X-com Firestorm than anything the Aliens put out?

Chryssalids are a piece of cake as soon as you get flying suits (it doesn't really matter whether you equip your team with laser rifles for Cydonia, but flying suits are a *must* ASAP).
It could be the Small Scout (except that one still carries only one alien even if you're playing on Superhuman), but yes, it does resemble the Firestorm a lot.

Already have, she's survived nearly being eaten by a Chryssalid in a Terror Mission and pummeled within an inch of her life by a Berserker before being shot near death by a Cyberdisc in the same UFO raid.
She's currently a Colonel and is undergoing Psi Testing, I think.

nonononono! A blaster Launcher tank is much better. I always take two with my team of elite psykers led by http://imageshack.com/a/img401/5999/sigourneyjohnson.png and yes. That is her default name. Tanks as spotters and a conga line of mind controlled aliens. Such fond memories.

Blaster hovertanks are useless. At that point in game, you can take four soldiers with blaster launchers instead, keep them near the craft and have four times the firepower (actually -more- than four times, since HWP blaster bombs are weaker than their hand-held counterparts). As long as the soldiers have decent psionic strength, they're a vastly superior choice to the blaster hovertank. At least a plasma hovertank can act as a spotter/bullet sponge and draw reaction fire from the aliens (since cyberdiscs and sectopods WILL shoot, and most of the time they'll put down even a flying armor operative in one shot, or at least gravely injure them).

Don't forget the ammunition costs too. (Unless you're cheating/using a mod) Blaster Hovertank Ammo can ONLY be produced through manufacturing and includes Elerium which is always a concern. By comparison, Blaster Bombs are plentiful since even mere alien leaders start to carry them in the late-game.

Yeah, that's also a concern, although Elerium isn't an issue once you have a good detection network and fast craft that enable you to assault landed UFO most of the time instead of shooting them down. Hell, if you're good at it, you're probably going to have to sell the stuff just to free some storage space.
