No, there's just too many insufferable people who want Mima to make a modern appearance.

There is literally nothing wrong with wanting older characters to make a return.

Let it go, UD. Let it go.

Unfortunately (for some people), the hope for Mima won't be going away anytime soon now that CDS just revealed its culprit to be a vengeful spirit, an eternal criminal who escaped from Former Hell.

Of course knowing ZUN it's just gonna be a bait-and-switch, but until then expect more people to "feel it in their bones", as they say.

It's always a bloody bait-and-switch. As far as I can tell, he almost outright pretends everything from that era that isn't Alice or Yuuka never existed, and only rarely does he even acknowledge those two. I, like a lot of others, think it a gross waste of potential to just abandon all of these wonderful characters who actually did get some semblance of development. Sometimes I actually wonder if he legitimately uses Mima consciously as a carrot on a stick to bait and troll people. He's intentionally deflected questions about Mima in the past, so we know he's aware of the demand. He just doesn't care. Which is a shame. One of the people who actually got me into Touhou has lost a lot of interest because of the constant creation and discarding of characters. It's not sustainable.

I don't know what people expect with a series that has literally hundreds of characters. Honestly? It's their own fault for expecting things like that and start looking at whatever ZUN does from from that angle really, does that mean he can't do story involving vengeful spirit now because some people keep on expecting for a character that is unlikely to appear again and see a bait and switch from every corner? Even if she does appear again it's likely with some changes done to her like Alice and Yuuka, either appearance or backstory or even both.

Well, a battleship is way heavier than a destroyer or à light cruiser.

For reference:
Bailey: 1620 tons standard displacement
Isuzu: 5570 tons standard
Nelson: 33950 tons standard

So, Isuzu and Bailey combined can't reach a fourth of Nelson's displacement.

This looks interesting as well as the currently being translated Koume Road comic. Hopefully, this would be translated as well.
