Another agreement for keeping the Murata pools, but on the fence about the tags.
It is a bit inconsistent that *those* gets the tags and all other similar pools don't have them, but honestly it's not a big enough deal to go removing them. It's not hurting anything.
I'm just going to leave them and consider the matter of those two pools closed.
At the moment, about 10 of the posts aren't tagged as game_cg (And I can't tell if all 10 should have the tag).
If the pool is intended to include all images that were once static and are now animated (e.g. post #357568), then I see no reason not to keep it.
Hmm, I think it's supposed to be something more specific than that, though I can't word it quite right. I get the impression those cgifs weren't originally gifs. And maybe not all originally game cgs? (Though, really, I'm not sure how widespread I really want these fan-modified images to be. I already consider nude filters of Megami scans and the like to be the absolute nadir of imageboard culture)

Pools are for convenient browsing, tags are for searches.
That actually reminds me of an idea I had a while ago--would it be possible to have searches include pool names as results? Like if I searched for naruko_hanaharu, the pools that include that tag would be listed as results, perhaps as a list on the first result page below the thumbnails or in the left panel (below the Tags).
I think pools are really hard to browse at the moment unless you know what you're looking for, especially if you consider that not everyone always adds artist names when they name pools of series and so on. It's just a really chaotic situation right now and being able to identify a pool by the tags it contains would be great.
Anyway, I also second the notion of a private/invisible pool for personal favorites. I even had one of these pools but deleted it.
Updated
Another useless one: pool #437 "mine"
(Edit: Deleted! -ス)
Is there some sort of a history feature for pools? I couldn't find it, if there is one. It'd be nice to see who's adding and removing posts, reordering, etc.
pool #461 "junk" ?

It's all pictures of Suigintou, who has the nickname "Junk". In other words, a very redundant pool that serves only as someone's repository for their favorite Suigintou pictures. Deleted.
pool #115 , Lecker?
Appears to be the german word for tasty, so it's most likely a favorites pool. Pointless: yes.

Deleted it.
pool #140 was used to regroup those oekakis made by a once nameless artist, but since theres a name now, i think it's become useless.
The Translation Request Archives pool (pool #509) can be replicated with the simple tag search translation_request date:<2008-08-08; does that make it a pointless pool?
I'm not sure how many people know about the date tag, but it is certainly more comprehensive than a pool.
Still, it's not something I'd go out of my way to delete I guess.
