Creating implications for any neckwear except cravats.

  • I wasn't sure about implying any type of undone_* neckwear. Either a piece of cloth or ribbon is used to make bowties, neckerchiefs and such, so when it's undone, it's reverted back into a cloth or ribbon rather than retaining its neckwear form. The wiki for undone necktie seems to function as an umbrella tag for all types of untied neckwear, although I think that should refer specifically to the necktie. I also think it'd be safe for undone_necktie to imply necktie since it's an obvious article of clothing, unlike the other types that use cloth or ribbon.
  • Wanted to ask about the difference between short_necktie and mini_necktie and whether or not an alias should be made instead.

The bulk update request #1288 has been approved.

There's still topic #14395 that if enacted would get rid of most of the above qualifying tags...

I was thinking the same thing. A lot of these implications should be put on hold until we can come to a decision about whether the colored ascot/bowtie/neckerchief/necktie tags should even exist

What about scarfs, though?
I don't really think of scarfs when thinking of neckwear, but should also be brought up...

Scarves are typically worn around one's neck, so considering them to be "neckwear" makes sense to me.

I'm not so sure about garments worn over one's shoulders: capelet, shawl, feather boa, stole, etc.

Should I reject the request then?
