[APPROVED] [Bulk] Reworking the photoshop tag

Posted under Tags

mass update photoshop -> third-party_edit
remove alias photoshopped -> photoshop
remove implication nude_filter -> photoshop

The photoshop tag is kind of a mess. It's constantly muddied by people adding pictures to it that don't belong and were simply just created using the program by the artist itself, mostly because of translated tags from sites such as tumblr, and also because it's not immediate what it stands for. It might have been the case 10 years ago, but today third party edits are not always (or even necessarily often) done with photoshop - having the third-party_edit umbrella tag be named after a specific program only serves in confusing new users and making gardening unnecessarily complex.

After/if this is approved, I'll go through the tag and move the applicable images to something like photoshop (medium). The photoshop tag will instead be left empty to facilitate tag gardening in case of people not aware of the change deciding to use it.

Once this is approved I'll ask for a reimplying/realias (it seems I can't as long as "photoshopped" is already aliased), because asking all of it in a single request messes with how bulk requests are processed. Once/if these are approved I'll also open an issue on github to change the part of the code that makes the photoshop tag stand out in the mod queue.

It's worth keeping "photoshopped" aliased for both an autocomplete reason and because this term is unequivocably tied to third party edits, unlike the name of the program by itself.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1561 (forum #145125) has been approved by @Hillside_Moose.

create implication decensored -> third-party_edit
create implication detexted -> third-party_edit

Link to request

By current definition pictures under the decensored tag are a subset of third-party_edits, just like nude filters, so they should implicate such tag. There's also very few pictures under decensored -photoshop and they all seem to just be mistags. Any "officially" decensored picture should fall under uncensored instead.

The same goes for detexted per its wiki definition.

Making a separate request for this in case people have points to raise against it.

EDIT: The bulk update request #1562 (forum #145128) has been approved by @Hillside_Moose.

+1 to all.

presumably artists do not stitch their own images, but they are composites of different images by an artist to arrive at a preferred whole final product. if an artist made a "stitched" image would it be tagged as such?

“Stitching” is used for when a formerly complete image is restored from parts, right? I don’t think it would apply to an artist combining their own images.

There is also edit, edited, and bad_edit, which get used interchangeably and two of which don't have wiki pages.

3rd_party_watermark also could implicate third-party_edit, and should probably be changed to third-party_watermark to match the wording.

edit and bad edit can fit into third-party_edit, imo we should just move them once/if the topic request gets approved. Not sure about edited, but I'll add the 3rd party watermark tag to the second request if nobody disagrees.
